Next date: Saturday, 03 May 2025 | 10:00 AM
to 11:00 AM
Did you know in Australia on average households waste the equivalent of one in five bags of groceries worth of food, which equates annually to the price of a holiday for a family of four for a week - what a waste!
There are many quick, easy and cost-free ways to avoid and reduce food waste, that can help you save money too.
Are you just starting your journey to reducing food waste and want to learn more? Or are you already taking action at home but have questions about how to do better? Or perhaps you are interested to hear about what restaurants are doing to reduce their waste? This workshop is for you.
Hear from owner Graham Jefferies from Samesyn 2.0 in Torquay – a unique restaurant focussed on creating high-end restaurant dishes, whilst having a low waste dining and food rescue focus. Graham will talk through their approach to low waste creations, and then we’ll discuss simple ways to reduce food waste at home, from recipe hacks to food-storage solutions, and why sticking to a shopping list it so important!
Attendees will be able to taste some of Samesyn’s incredible creations on the day and will also take home a free cloth veggie bag to extend the life of your veggies, as well as a roll of “Use it Up” tape from OzHarvest, a combined valued of $30!
Spread the word! Limited places available!
*Please note this event is for Surf Coast Shire residents only.
