Barwon River Adventure Play Space

The new Adventure Play Space is open for fun times, enhancing the Barwon Terrace recreation area as a place for family enjoyment.
Kids can now go for a zip on the flying fox, with wheelchair access and accessible seat, explore the elevated pods, take a ride on the slide and more.
The cubby house remains off limits for the moment awaiting some final adjustments.
Landscaping of the site has included addition of hundreds of plants and guards are protecting some garden beds to help ensure that they flourish.
Council contributed $600,000 to the play space project and appreciates $250,000 funding from Sport and Recreation Victoria.

Kids and families can look forward to the exciting new Adventure Play Space opening for use during the week of 24 March.
Play equipment including elevated cubby pods is now installed, rubber matting and soft-fall surfaces laid, and hundreds of grasses, shrubs and trees have been planted in and around the play space and adjoining areas.
Final safety checks will be completed during the week of 17 March.

Construction of the exciting new Adventure Play Space is underway, promising fun times ahead for youngsters.
The existing playground will be incorporated into the new play space, with work on schedule for completion early in 2025.
The project is supported by $250,000 funding from Recreation Victoria and $600,000 from Council.

Construction of the exciting new Adventure Play Space beside the Barwon River is scheduled to start during October 2024.
The existing playground will be closed during construction.
Work is scheduled for completion by February 2025.
The new Adventure Play Space promises fun times, with elements to stimulate and delight including:

• Embankment slide

Community feedback guided the design and showed clear preference for use of natural timbers and colours in construction of the park.
