Your new career
You will be joining the Council’s Program Management Office (PMO) team to support project and contract delivery and reporting for a diverse range of projects for our community and environment.
The PMO leads project management practice across the organisation using a Project Delivery Framework with consistent approaches, tools and templates and is introducing a Project Management System to support effective project delivery.
The Project Support Officer will work within the PMO team, reporting to the Coordinator Project Management, and assist our sponsors, stakeholders, and subject matter experts across a range of departments to help deliver the best possible outcomes for projects.
What you will bring to the role
The successful candidate for this role will support the PMO team in driving project progress to deliver great outcomes. You will bring:
- expertise and experience in efficient, effective and disciplined project and/or business administration
- strong communications and engagement skills in fostering productive and positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- helpful, problem solving and improvement focussed approach to all aspects of your work and interactions.
Key selection criteria
Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar project support officer or technical officer role.
- Certificate in Project Management or Business Administration or similar relevant qualification (Qualification Check will be completed)
- Basic financial and purchasing knowledge e.g. procurement principles, purchase orders and invoicing.
- Some knowledge of local government.
- A current Working With Children Check
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
