Alcohol and tobacco
No Drinking of Alcohol in Public Places
In common with many other coastal areas, Surf Coast Shire has an alcohol ban in public places. Those caught drinking or carrying open containers of alcohol in the streets or public reserves will be liable for a $200 on-the-spot fine.
Tobacco legislation enforcement
As a result of Victoria's tobacco legislation we can now enjoy a smoke-free environment in most public spaces, and there are tougher penalties for retailers of illegal tobacco. All Surf Coast beaches are smoke-free, penalties apply.
