The Surf Coast Community Arts Calendar Competition gives artists from across Surf Coast Shire an opportunity to submit an artwork for exhibition and inclusion in a free publication available to the general public.

Showcase your creativity in the 2026 Surf Coast Community Arts Calendar Exhibition at Anglesea Art Space, with the chance for your work to be featured in the 2026 Calendar.

Entries close Sunday 21 September 2025 and we welcome submissions from artists, creatives and hobbyists who are Surf Coast Shire residents.

About the Competition

A panel of judges will select 12 artworks to represent each month of the calendar. A 13th artwork will be chosen for the cover through the People’s Choice Award, with voting available both at the exhibition and online.

Each selected artist will receive a $300 cash prize and have their work professionally presented in the 2026 calendar.

Key Dates

  • Submissions open: Monday 18 August 2025
  • Submissions close: Sunday 21 September 2025
  • Exhibition period: Friday 10 October – Sunday 26 October 2025
  • Opening event and winner announcements: Friday 10 October 2025, 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Artist Statement: Hand dyed fabric with recycled fabrics and hand stitch. Many people found the joy of ocean swimming during the years of COVID. This is a celebration of friendships that have continued with a focus on the sea.

Artist Statement: An iconic view of the boat sheds on a spring morning, on the Anglesea River which conjures up many treasured memories of me and my family.
